Workers assistance ensure employees made redundant get training

ForestWorks Tasmania is providing workers assistance in the Scottsdale region as part of the DEEWR funded SET project (Skills Enhancement and Training).  As part of this project, seven workers are now enrolled for  training through the structural adjustment Productivity Places Program. Qualifications these participants will undertake include Certificate III in Hospitality, Health Services and Aged Care.

Young people encouraged to lead in forestry program

Tasmanian high school students, Daniel Scott, Amanda Hazelwood, Hannah Wiggins, Abby Hay, Jessikah Newman and Corey Moriarty will be mentored through a range of activities this year to foster their leadership and representational skills. The ForestWorks ‘Young Forestry Leaders’ program, funded by DAFF, stems from the highly successful ‘Grow your Career’ program started in 2008. Learn More!

Tasmanian Assessors workshop ensures consistency of tools

ForestWorks recently held an annual  assessors workshop in Launceston, Tasmania. The primary purpose of the workshop was to work with  assessors to ensure the consistency and continuity of assessment and the validation of the assessment tools and approaches. These tools are developed by ForestWorks and the registered assessors and are then validated by industry.

Workshop participants collaborate to up-skill industry

Over 60 industry training and assessing representatives from across Australia attended the recent inaugural joint Australian Timber Trainers Association/ForestWorks/FIAPS workshop in Mt Gambier. The workshop presented a fantastic opportunity for all involved to discover new ways of engaging people in training. ForestWorks is committed to working with industry to support enterprises in developing skill development networks and infrastructure for the benefit of industry. Learn More!

ForestWorks supports Gippsland Fielder Plantation Services Pty Ltd award win

ForestWorks recently attended the 2009 Minister's Awards for Excellence for Employers of Australian Apprentices at Parliament House in Canberra. ForestWorks was supporting Fielder Plantation Services Pty Ltd, an award runner up for the Gippsland region. Learn More!
