Example Learner Guide

This Learner Guide is aligned to the unit of competency FPICOR3203A: Evaluate fire potential and prevention, from the Forest and Forest Products Industry Training Package (FPI05).

Product Description

Target Group:

The Learner Guide is specifically for learners employed in the Forest and forest Products industry, not including new entrants. It is designed to support trainer/facilitator led training in both institutional and workplace learning environments. The Learner Guide is not suitable for self paced distance learning delivery.

Learner Guide: (Format: Electronic PDF)

The Learner Guide is a part of a Learner Pack that consists of 6 core units from Certificate II and III qualifications in the Forest Products Industry Training Package (FPI05). The Learner Guide includes background information and learning exercises on the following topics:

  • principles of fire behaviour
  • fire danger index
  • personal protective equipment
  • pumps, hoses and fittings
  • communication equipment
  • fire breaks and backburning
  • safe wildfire fighting
  • preventing on-site fires
  • dealing with on-site emergencies.

 

The learning exercises are in the form of Practical tasks, and are designed to reinforce the topics covered in this unit.
