Licence to work

Operating mechanical saws, driving earthmoving equipment, tending kilns or boilers - jobs like these require experience, skill and care.

Because of potential dangers, or for other reasons (e.g. environmental requirements), many workers in this industry legally require a licence to do their job.

Licences are issued by regulatory authorities, such as WorkCover or forestry agencies. Employees, employers and assessors should be aware of licensing requirements affecting their workplaces.
