Industry Skills Scan

The Industry Skills Scan captures and analyses industry intelligence about existing and emerging skill shortages and training requirements in order to inform government decision-making.

As the Industry Skills Council (ISC) for the forest, wood, paper and timber products industry, ForestWorks ISC produces an annual Industry Skills Scan that gathers information on skills supply and demand, workforce development priorities, analysis of implementation of the current training packages and recommendations for changes to the packages through a three-year continuous improvement plan.

The Industry Sklls Scan:

  • describes the industry - its scope, products, processes and issues
  • provides advice to the Government on skill shortages and needs across the industry
  • provides direction to the training and skill solutions that will be undertaken in the review of the skill standards and qualifications over the next 12 months.
