Increase flexibility of qualification to better align to industry skill needs.
Implementation aspects: Possible reduction in qualification size to 10 units. Current units to remain, though possibly reorganised into new elective groups.
Investigate safety imperative for loading, transport and unloading of logs, as well as transporting other forestry produce.

Content from original unit FPICOT3226B Shift forestry logs using trucksexpanded and replaced with two new units: FPICOTXXX Transport forestry logs using trucks and FPICOTXXX Transport forestry produce using trucks.

It is proposed that each of these units be packaged with FPICOR2205B Follow environmental care procedures and FPICOR2205B Follow OHS policies and procedures with a view to form two new skill sets (one for transporting logs and the other for forestry products such as chips, biomass etc).
Identified emerging skills need required for timber wholesale and retail staff in the areas of product knowledge and service skills. Review of qualifications to align to a range of job roles.
