Chainsaw and Tree Falling Units of Competency Update

Latest Update: Units of Competency

Chainsaw related

The following units have been updated, as at 28 May 2010, and will support the upcoming edition of the Chainsaw and Tree Falling Manual. The units have been re-coded due to the significance of the changes, and changes have been tracked for ease of understanding.

  • FPICOT2237A Maintain chainsaws
  • FPICOT2238A Cut material with a hand held saw 
  • FPICOT2239A Trim and cut felled trees
  • FPIHAR2207A Trim and cut harvested trees
Tree Falling related
  • FPICOT2236A Fall trees manually (Basic) Final
  • FPIFGM3212A Fall trees manually (Intermediate) Final
  • FPIFGM3213A Fall trees manually (Advanced) Final
  • FPIHAR3216A Harvest trees manually (Intermediate) Final
  • FPIHAR3217A Harvest trees manually (Advanced) Final

It is envisaged that the units will be sent to the National Quality Council (NQC) for endorsement in June 2010.
